12.28.10

The last day with Poppy and Grandebbi involved
a trip to Pops,
a stroll of the Oklahoma City National Memorial,
a matinee of Tangled
and
just a few pictures.

Christmas Day

We waited until Mr. Deschamps arrived home.
The girls awoke at 7:30, and we waited until 9:00.
Keeping little hands away from gifts was a challenge.

Santa brought wooden eggs, mice, Honey the dog and pajamas.
Olive loved and savored every gift.
Elle Belle would rip open any package in her sight.
It was funny and magical and slightly-indulgent.
(I blame the grandparents.)
We finished the morning off with crepes, nutella and berries.
The perfect Christmas...
even if it was a day late.

Christmas Eve

We wrapped presents,

sewed nightgowns,
made cookies,
ate Christmas dinner at the OU cafeteria,

 cuddled,

said our good-byes,
put the presents under the tree,
 gave Christmas love,
 checked the chimney for Santa,
left cookies for Santa
and
grapes for the reindeer,
read the Christmas story,
said our prayers,
and dreamed of tomorrow.
